"Shrimp" the '56 PAF T-Type

£2,800.00Price

Our latest "PAF Replica T-Type" in a classic mid-50s style.

Our lightweight Eternal "PAF Replica" equipped T-Type guitars are perfect for those looking for a versatile, tone-packed and simple instrument to cover a wide variety of musical styles. The combination of a lightweight build, solid hardware and our open-sounding "PAF Replica" pickups create a unique tone - both resonant and focussed that allows the player to find their authentic voice.

For this version, I decided to do use a mid-‘50s vibe and aesthetic with a two-tone ‘burst and a white pickguard.

The body is solid lightweight ash and once again we've used a sleek, soft-V-shaped one-piece maple neck. The body is finished in aged two-tone sunburst nitro with the neck and fingerboard aged to mimic decades of use but the comfortable profile and carve, aided by a vintage correct 7.25” radius and jumbo frets make for effortless playability.

The juice as ever comes from our own “PAF Replica” humbuckers - a standard low-wind in the neck with a beefier “Super-PAF’ in the bridge. To further broaden to the tonal versatility, I’ve used four-conductor hook-up wire from the pickups. Whilst not strictly speaking vintage-correct it does allow a wider of wiring options, and here I’ve used a simple but high-quality CTS push/pot on the tone control to simultaneously split both pickups to offer (in conjunction with some clever treble-bleed circuitry) a very fine pseudo-Tele tone. As simple as this appears, the result is the best of two guitars in one.

Elsewhere we have Gotoh hardware with split-post tuners and a chopped ashtray bridge with three compensated brass saddles. Electronics are our usual top-notch CTS brass collar pots, a CRL three-way selector switch and a Switchcraft jack socket in an “electrosocket” to ensure trouble-free jack life.
